This website's privacy

retiregolden.org is an ordinary website, and we describe it as one. It may use JavaScript, cookies, and basic traffic analytics to operate and to understand how the site is used — currently Cloudflare Web Analytics (cookieless, anonymized traffic counts) and Microsoft Application Insights, which also captures script errors so we can fix them and sets two analytics cookies (ai_user, ai_session). Application Insights respects Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: for those browsers it never runs and sets no cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics may still record anonymized traffic counts. The site runs no ad networks, and we don't sell visitor data. It is served through Cloudflare and hosted on Microsoft Azure, which keep standard, short-lived operational logs (IP address, requested page) for security and reliability. The site's Content-Security-Policy — visible in its published configuration — limits scripts to our own and Cloudflare's.

If this site later adds subscriber features — sign-in, account management, checkout — those will require cookies and account data, and will come with their own clearly stated terms.

What none of this ever touches: your retirement plan. The plans you build in the planner exist only on your own device — they are not stored on, transmitted to, or visible from this site or any server.

The app's privacy

The planner at retiregolden.app has no accounts and no server-side storage. Everything you enter lives only in your browser's local storage on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. That also means it can't be recovered by us: clearing your browser data, switching devices, or using "Clear all data" erases it permanently — export a backup file if you want to keep or move your plans. RetireGolden is an educational modeling tool. It is not tax advice, legal advice, investment advice, accounting advice, insurance advice, or medical advice, and nothing it produces creates an advisor–client relationship of any kind. Projections depend entirely on your inputs and assumptions; models are simplifications; tax law changes, sometimes retroactively. Decisions about retirement, Social Security claiming, Roth conversions, withdrawals, healthcare coverage, or anything else with real-world consequences should be made with qualified professionals who know your full situation.

The software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Calculations may contain errors. You bear all responsibility for decisions made using this tool.

The app maintains the authoritative, always-current version of its disclaimer — including the exact tax-data vintage in effect and the provenance of every default parameter — at retiregolden.app/disclaimer.
